Apple released the all-new operating systems – iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 with a lot of new features. One of them is the Audio Sharing feature. This feature allows you to share audio to two different AirPods from one iPhone.
Often there are instances where-in you wish to show some video and want the person next to you to listen to some audio. It is finally possible with the new Audio Sharing on iOS 13 and iPadOS 13.
This feature makes it easy and straightforward for you to connect two AirPods to One iPhone. It is allowing you and your friend to listen to the same audio your his or your iPhone.
Let’s check out, how can you do so!
Before we begin, if your iPhone or iPad is not running iOS 13 or iPadOS 13, you can follow the below guide to install iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 right now:
Connect Two AirPods to One iPhone
As I mentioned earlier, the feature of Audio Sharing is available on both, iOS as well as on iPadOS. So, the process for both the devices remains the same.
Step 1 : Firstly, connect your AirPods to your iPhone.
Step 2 : Now put the AirPods into your ears and ensure the audio is being steamed to your AirPods
Step 3 : Now connect your friend’s AirPods to your iPhone.
Step 4 : Ask him to put on the AirPods
Step 5 : Now, you need to swipe up and go to the control centre
Step 6 : In the Control Centre, press on the audio icon in-side the media section
Step 7 : Now, tap and select your friend’s AirPods under the headphones section
Step 8 : After the selection, your friend will be able to the same audio which you are listening to
This is how you can stream the same audio from one iPhone or iPad to Two AirPods.
How to change volume for both the AirPods?
Apple added an option to set the different volume for both the AirPods. Which means, you can have a different volume set for your AirPods and your friend can have separate volume for his AirPods.
It is a required feature, as different people prefer to listen to audio at a different volume level.
In order to set the volume for AirPods, you can follow the below steps:
Step 1 : Swipe Up on the home screen and go to Control Centre
Step 2 : Press and Hold on the volume icon
Step 3 : Now, you will be able to choose from the volume for both the AirPods and set it as per the requirement
After successfully following both the steps, you will be able to stream audio to two different AirPods from one iPhone. That too, with varying volumes as required by the listener.
But, there is a possibility of some error in the audio sharing. When I used this feature for the first time, I experienced a lag in audio sharing, which was resolved by me disconnecting both the AirPods and re-connecting the AirPods.
The feature was best useful for me when I am travelling with a friend of mine or anyone for that matter, and wish to listen to the same audio. Using the iPhone’s speakers is not a great option, as the sound is not very clear, because of the distance between the speaker and your ears, and also taking into account the surrounding noise.
