Step 1 : Press and Hold Power Button

Step 2 : Slide along Slide to Power Off

Step 3 : Once the screen turns all black, press and hold Power Button until you see the Apple Logo

How to Hard Reset iPhone 6 or earlier

Step 1 : Press and Hold Power Button and Home Button until you see Apple Logo

That’s all. As I told you earlier, the methods are very easy for these iPhones.

How to Restart / Hard Reset iPhone 7 and 8

Since you must know, iPhone 7 and 8 do not feature a physical home button, it is just a pressure sensitive area. Which means when the iPhone isn’t Powered on, the button won’t function. That’s the reason iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 have a different way to Restart or Hard Reset.

Step 1 : Press and Hold Power Button

Step 2 : Slide along Slide to Power Off

Step 3 : Once the screen turns all black, press and hold Power Button until you see the Apple Logo

How to Hard Reset iPhone 7 and 8

Step 1 : Press and Hold Power Button and Volume Down Button until you see Apple Logo

Apple just replaced the Home Button with the Volume Down Button and the rest process remains the same.

How to Restart / Hard Reset iPhone X, XR, XS, and XS Max

As you know, iPhone X, XR, XS, and XS Max do no feature a Home Button, they have an edge-to-edge display. Due to which Apple had to again change the method a little, but not much.
